Driving Down Emissions
Driving Down Emissions is a report that explores the relationship between land use and transportation decisions. It outlines five strategies that can reduce the emissions:
- Removing onerous government regulations to provide more homes where people naturally drive less.
- Prioritizing safety when designing to encourage short trips, enabling walking and biking.
- Instituting GHG reduction and less driving.
- Prioritizing access to destinations.
- Investing in other methods of transport.
Transportation accounts for the largest share of carbon emissions in the US. This report shows that reducing emissions from transportation in a short timeframe is an achievable goal.
