Reefs at Risk Revisited
The Reefs at Risk Revisited project by the World Resources Institute presents a comprehensive assessment of the status and threats to global coral reefs, addressing the urgent concern of carbon pollution and ocean acidification. This study examines a range of human-induced threats, including, for the first time, climate-related pressures.
The project aims to enhance awareness regarding the severity and locations of reef threats, serving as an urgent call to action for global policymakers and citizens. Moreover, the study undertakes a global evaluation of the vulnerability of nations and territories to reef degradation, considering their dependency on coral reefs and adaptability capacities, thereby offering crucial data for informed decision-making.
