Secondhand Shopping: Understanding Consumer Behavior toward Pre-owned Clothing in India
This article discusses the behavior of Indian consumers towards pre-owned clothing or secondhand shopping. The study was conducted through online surveys and interviews with consumers. The results showed that the majority of the respondents were willing to purchase pre-owned clothing due to factors such as affordability, uniqueness, and sustainability.
Additionally, the study found that consumers preferred to buy pre-owned clothing from physical stores rather than online platforms. The main reasons for this preference were the opportunity to inspect the garment before purchasing, and the trust in the authenticity of the product. The study concludes that pre-owned clothing has the potential to become a mainstream shopping trend in India, provided that there is more awareness and acceptance of the concept.
