Transparent 2020: Mapping Corporate Action on Plastic Waste
The Footprint Tracker's pilot year aimed to establish a baseline of plastic use and management for Members, providing insights into challenges and opportunities for effective action on the plastic waste crisis. This report presents key findings from ReSource Principal Members' plastic footprints in 2018, including polymer type, recycled content, waste management pathways, and data from companies like Keurig Dr Pepper, McDonald's Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Starbucks, and The Coca-Cola Company.
The report identifies four waste management pathways for consumer-facing plastic packaging and offers concrete calls to action for Members and recommendations for the private sector to address global plastic pollution, aligning with the ReSource: Plastic goals of eliminating unnecessary plastic, increasing recycling and composting, and transitioning to sustainable inputs for remaining plastic.
